Foundation Stabilization & Crawl Space Structural Repair in Adelanto, CA
The Issue
A homeowner in Adelanto began experiencing severe structural problems after the home started sliding and sinking due to unstable soil conditions beneath the foundation. Over time, underlying voids formed beneath portions of the structure, causing the home to shift unevenly on both the foundation and crawl space support system.
As the structural movement worsened, cracks began forming throughout the walls, floors became uneven and sagging, and doors and windows became difficult to open and close properly. These symptoms indicated significant foundation settlement combined with lateral movement affecting the overall stability of the home.
Homes throughout Southern California desert regions are especially vulnerable to soil movement, erosion, and settlement-related damage caused by shifting soils beneath foundations and crawl spaces. Without permanent stabilization, these structural issues can continue worsening and eventually lead to major foundation failure.
The Solution
To permanently stabilize the structure, the homeowner contacted Saber Foundation & Concrete Repair for a comprehensive structural inspection and foundation repair plan. After completing a detailed evaluation of the home, Saber’s foundation repair specialists developed a multi-phase stabilization solution designed to address both the vertical settlement and lateral structural movement affecting the property.
To stabilize and help lift the sinking foundation, heavy-duty steel push piers were recommended beneath the affected foundation areas. The push piers were hydraulically advanced deep into stable load-bearing soil beneath the weak upper soil layers responsible for the settlement. Once installed and pressurized, the push pier system helped strengthen and permanently reinforce the foundation while restoring support beneath the home.
Because portions of the home had shifted laterally, helical tiebacks were also recommended to help prevent additional sliding movement. These engineered steel anchors were designed to stabilize the affected foundation areas against continued lateral soil pressure and structural displacement.
Inside the crawl space, deteriorating support components were replaced with new structural support posts and heavy-duty steel I-beams. These reinforcements helped eliminate sagging floors while restoring long-term structural support beneath the home’s floor framing system.
To complete the stabilization process, polyurethane foam injection technology was recommended to fill the underlying soil voids beneath the foundation. The expanding polyurethane helped restore support beneath the slab while improving soil stability and reducing the risk of future settlement and erosion beneath the structure.
The Result
Following the inspection and evaluation process, the homeowner received a detailed written copy of Saber’s home inspection report outlining the structural findings, repair recommendations, and long-term stabilization strategy for the property.
By combining push pier foundation stabilization, helical tieback reinforcement, crawl space structural repairs, and polyurethane void filling technology, Saber Foundation & Concrete Repair provided a comprehensive structural repair solution designed to restore stability and protect this Adelanto home against future settlement, sliding, and foundation-related damage common throughout Southern California desert soil conditions.
