Slab Crack Repair Throughout a Home in Indian Wells, Ca
A home in Indian Wells, Ca. was going through renovations and needed new flooring. When the carpet and wood were removed, numerous cracks were found in the slab foundation throughout the home. Saber was called to conduct an inspection and to find the perfect solution for the cracking issue. It was found that a 2 part structural gravity fed epoxy was the best way to effectively seal the cracks in the slabs to ensure that the cement slabs were fixed. Saber's production crew proceeded to clean each crack and prep it for the epoxy application. After the epoxy was applied and set, the edges were ground down so that the epoxy was flush with the concrete, effectively filling the cracks. The homeowners were very pleased with the results and, after the project, were able to replace the flooring of their home and enjoy their new living space.
SmartJack System Supports in Crawlspace in Arroyo Grande, Ca.
I home in Arroyo Grande, Ca. was seeing symptoms of foundation failure. The home was built in 2001 and the current homeowner had lived there since 2008. They started noticing sagging floors over the past year and wanted to know what they could do to fix it. They were worried about the integrity of their flooring due to the slope. Before calling Saber, they had tried small patches and other fixes and nothing worked. After Saber's Project Design Specialist performed a manometer reading and full inspection of their large crawlspace, it was determined that a SmartJack support system and supplemental support beams would be required in order to raise the main floors back to level and support them, keeping them from further sagging. There was also a center wall that was receiving no support from the sagging floor. After the installation of the SmartJacks, they acted as a new girder beam in between existing girder beams. The existing beams had been poorly spaced, causing the floor above to begin to sag over time without proper support.
Helical Pier Needed to Raise Area of Avila Beach, Ca. Home
An Avila Beach, Ca. home, built in 2002, withstood an earthquake in 2004. The current homeowner had just bought the home and had only lived in it for 2 months. Cracks in the drywall on the interior of the home had been noted before they purchased the home. The family planned on living in the home for quite a while but wanted their foundation issue fixed for a future sale date in the decades to come. Saber conducted a free foundation inspection and determined that the foundation was sinking in one area due to settling soils. The sinking area was causing the walls to crack and it was found that, if not remedied, the symptoms would only get worse with time. The homeowner's goal was the permanently stabilize the slab foundation to prevent further settlement. A 3" helical pier and tieback with a standard bracket was used to lift and stabilize the foundation. Many of the cracks in the interior walls of the home were closed upon lift of the home and the homeowner was pleased with their results.
