Balboa Park - Diabetes walk for the cure 2014 in San Diego, CA

walk

On November 8, 2014, Saber was a proud sponsor of the JDRF Walk to cure Diabetes, in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.  The there were more than 3000 walkers in attendance, and over $630,000 was rasied to fund reseach and better treatment for this disease that is usually diagnosed in children and young adults.  This disease was previously known as juvenile diabetes.  Only 5% of people with diabetes have this form of the disease.

In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin.  Insulin is a hormone needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life.  With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children can learn to manage their conditions and live long, healthy lives.

Saber is proud to have helped in the cause taking Type 1 to Type NONE!  If you would like to donate or would like to find out more about type 1 diabetes, please visit the jdrf.org.
