Foundation Repair Photo Album: Los Angeles Home Leveling
The owner of this Los Angeles home contacted Saber after noticing dramatic signs of settlement, including gaps forming between exterior walls and misaligned doors and windows. Inspection of the crawlspace showed that beams and support piers needed to be realigned after the structure was lifted. Southern California’s heat causes clay soils to dry out and shrink, which leads to uneven settling of foundations. To stabilize the home, Saber attached heavy‑duty push‑pier brackets to the concrete footing and hydraulically drove steel pier sections down to competent soil or bedrock. Once the piers reached firm bearing, hoses were connected to the brackets and the structure was carefully raised; the wall gaps closed and the crawlspace supports could be adjusted for long‑term stability. With the building’s weight transferred onto the deep piers, the homeowner no longer has to worry about walls separating or sticking doors.
