Foundation Settlement Repair & Push Pier Installation in Fullerton, CA
A 1950s Home Began Showing Signs of Foundation Settlement A homeowner in Fullerton began noticing signs of potential foundation settlement shortly after moving into a home originally built in 1956. Although the symptoms were initially minor, concerns about the long-term stability of the structure continued to grow over time. As the homeowner planned for the future and prepared to raise a growing family in the home, it became increasingly important to address the underlying structural concerns before they worsened. After receiving professional recommendations to inspect the crawl space and foundation system, the homeowner contacted Saber Foundation & Concrete Repair for a complete structural evaluation. Foundation settlement in older Southern California homes is often caused by shifting soils, aging support systems, and decades of gradual structural movement. Left untreated, settlement can eventually lead to wall cracks, uneven floors, sticking doors and windows, and more extensive structural damage. Crawl Space Inspection Confirmed Foundation Settlement The foundation repair specialists at Saber Foundation & Concrete Repair performed a detailed inspection of the home’s crawl space and foundation system to determine the source of the structural movement. During the inspection, the team identified active foundation settlement affecting portions of the home. The evaluation confirmed that sections of the foundation required permanent stabilization to help prevent continued movement and protect the long-term structural integrity of the property. To permanently reinforce the settling foundation, the team recommended the installation of a push pier foundation repair system designed to transfer the structural load of the home onto deeper, stable load-bearing soil beneath the weak upper soil layers. Push Pier Foundation Stabilization Solution To stabilize the home, Sammy’s crew installed eight heavy-duty steel push piers around the affected areas of the foundation. The push piers were hydraulically driven deep beneath the structure until stable supporting soils capable of properly supporting the home were reached. Once installed, the push pier system permanently transferred the weight of the home onto stronger load-bearing strata beneath the unstable surface soils. This process helped stabilize the settling foundation while reducing the risk of continued structural movement in the future. The push pier installation was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to the property while providing a long-term structural repair solution for the aging home. The Results Following the completion of the repairs, the home was successfully stabilized and reinforced against continued foundation settlement. The homeowner gained peace of mind knowing the structure was now supported by a professionally engineered foundation stabilization system designed for long-term performance. Most importantly, the repairs helped provide a safer and more secure environment for the homeowner’s growing family while protecting the long-term value of the property.   By utilizing permanent push pier foundation repair technology, Saber Foundation & Concrete Repair successfully stabilized this historic Fullerton home and helped preserve its structural integrity for years to come.

Exterior Column Reinforcement Via Helical Pier in Whittier, Ca.
A homeowner in Whittier, Ca. had noticed soil erosion and other symptoms of foundation and soil settlement beneath an exterior support column on his porch. He called Saber for a solution that would keep his home from sinking any further. After the initial inspection of the column's location, a single 288 Helical Pier Standard with a mechanical bracket was deemed the correct solution for the issue the home was having. A steel beam was also to be inserted directly below the base of the column for further reinforcement. Once reviewing the plans, the foreman of the team to complete the job went over the details of the job, the length of time it would take and the expected results. Concrete removal and soil excavation was done by crew support to prepare for the insertion of the helical pier. The pier was inserted through the soil until it reached load bearing strata. Rebar was dowelled into the existing concrete slab and set in place with two part epoxy. The 2" X 6" steel beam was then added. The crew backfilled the soil at the helical's location and the soil was securely tamped down. After the job was completed, the foreman went back over the finished job with the homeowner and everything proved satisfactory to the homeowner, including the job site cleanup and the final result of a permanently stabilized column.
