Stabilizing a 1956 Home in Fullerton, Ca
Rob, a homeowner in Fullerton, CA, has lived in his 1956-built home since February 2016. From the beginning, he noticed signs of a potential foundation issue but initially delayed addressing it. However, with the arrival of babies in the home and plans to stay another 5-10 years, Rob knew it was time to take action. After receiving professional advice to inspect the crawlspace, Rob contacted Saber Foundation Repair to assess the situation.   Our design specialist conducted a comprehensive inspection of the home and crawlspace, identifying the problem as foundation settlement. To stabilize the home and ensure the safety of Rob's family, the specialist recommended the installation of push piers. Sammy’s crew installed eight push piers around the home, effectively stabilizing the foundation and addressing the settlement issue. With the push piers in place, Rob’s home is now secure and stable, providing a safe environment for his family. Rob can rest easy, knowing that the foundation is solid and that his home is well-prepared for the years ahead.

Exterior Column Reinforcement Via Helical Pier in Whittier, Ca.
A homeowner in Whittier, Ca. had noticed soil erosion and other symptoms of foundation and soil settlement beneath an exterior support column on his porch. He called Saber for a solution that would keep his home from sinking any further. After the initial inspection of the column's location, a single 288 Helical Pier Standard with a mechanical bracket was deemed the correct solution for the issue the home was having. A steel beam was also to be inserted directly below the base of the column for further reinforcement. Once reviewing the plans, the foreman of the team to complete the job went over the details of the job, the length of time it would take and the expected results. Concrete removal and soil excavation was done by crew support to prepare for the insertion of the helical pier. The pier was inserted through the soil until it reached load bearing strata. Rebar was dowelled into the existing concrete slab and set in place with two part epoxy. The 2" X 6" steel beam was then added. The crew backfilled the soil at the helical's location and the soil was securely tamped down. After the job was completed, the foreman went back over the finished job with the homeowner and everything proved satisfactory to the homeowner, including the job site cleanup and the final result of a permanently stabilized column.
